The Kenwood Employees Radio Club
May 1989
The Kenwood Employees Radio Club, WD6DJY, has been licensed since 1977.
Presently, the HF position consists of a TS-950SD and a TS-940S (with
built-in tuner), TL-922A linear amplifier, and Hy-Gain TH7DX tri-band beam at
50 feet. An SM-230 station monitor is hooked into the system.
RF and SWR is measured with the SW-2100 meter. The VHF station consists
of a TS-711A, and an eleven element yagi.
We also use a HAL DS-3100 Automatic Send-Receive video communications
terminal and ST-6000 FSK demodulator, along with monitor for RTTY and
other digital modes. The club station also uses KANTRONICS, and MFJ terminal
units for packet, etc.
The IBM personal computer seen in the advertisements is not used at the
station. It was put into the ad for illustration purposes.
Future plans include OSCAR operation using the new TS-790A, an all-mode
144 / 450 / 1200 MHz transceiver designed for satellite use. This
transceiver will enable WD6DJY to operate OSCAR modes B (70 cm uplink, 2
m downlink), and JL (1200 MHz uplink and 440 MHz downlink).
WD6DJY is active during contests and lunch breaks, as time allows. Craig
Martin, KR6T, is the station trustee. WD6DJY returns QSLs 100 per cent.
Look for us in the next contest!
73,
Sincerely,
KENWOOD U. S. A. CORPORATION
